We are currently looking for a Data Entry Clerk to join our team. Major duties include recording of lab work and medical exam components of client files; meeting company and client deadlines; tracking of missing medical exam components with clinics and laboratories; data entry of medical exam components into database(s); preparation of employee file for letter and physician review. Clerical functions include faxing, sending out and logging of medical tests.

Qualifications:

Must have high school degree or equivalent. Must be able to work well under pressure to meet goals and deadlines. Attention to detail is a must. Should demonstrate professionalism in interactions with co-workers, physicians, clinics and laboratory personnel. Must have demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality of patient records. Must have good oral, written and computer skills. Previous data entry experience a plus. Knowledge of medical terminology a plus.

Client Manager

We are currently looking for a Client Manager to join our team. The Client Manager is responsible for organizing the management of new Absence Management business relating to Return to Work programs due to FMLA, Worker's Compensation or other leaves of absence. This position will work with new clients to develop and refine workflows. Developing project plans and managing the project implementation process are significant activities. Must have the ability to interface with clients and incorporate client needs with WorkCare's services. Must possess the ability to observe and critically analyze processes to ensure efficient use of resources. Must have excellent computer skills with Microsoft Office applications and Visio. Must have excellent organizational, written and oral communication skills. Excellent presentation skills required. Must be able to work independently with little direction and as part of a team. Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree preferred. Business experience in working with Human Resource Managers, Risk Managers or Employee Benefits Managers a plus. Background in benefits and/or healthcare a plus.

This is a new position that will have an integral impact on the department's growth and evolution. We are looking for someone with the desire develop and mold this position along with the skills to cultivate our client relationships.

Registered Nurse

We are currently looking for a Registered Nurse to join our team. This position will be located at an off-site facility and will provide nursing services for an aerospace manufacturing company in San Diego. This includes providing on-site treatment and management of occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses. Will be providing ergonomic evaluations and training. May perform medical testing including but not limited to pre-employment drug screening, post accident drug screening, random or for cause drug screening, hearing tests, respirator fit tests and medical evaluations.

Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor’s Degree in nursing with 3-5 years experience in occupational medicine at an on-site program. Must have current license as a registered nurse in the state of California. Must have BLS, ACLS, CPR and Energy Coalition for Contractor Safety (ECCS) safety certifications. Requires ability to work independently. Must possess decision making skills based on strong professional and clinical judgment. Must be service-oriented and possess strong written and oral communications skills. Must have excellent listening skills.

Onsite Health Advocate

Job Summary:

WorkCare physicians, along with a team of allied credentialed health professionals, provide strategic and tactical consulting services and programs in order to improve workforce productivity, enhance employee health, maintain regulatory compliance, mitigate health cost drivers and advocate positive health behaviors.

We are currently looking for a Health Advocate to work at a client site in Gillette, Wyoming. This position will:

  • Plan, develop, organize, evaluate and coordinate a comprehensive health advocacy program. Travel is required to effectively support 5 mine sites in Wyoming (3), Montana and Colorado.
  • Review, evaluate, and analyze employee's and/or spouse's physical health in relationship to their lifestyle habits and/or work environment, and design programs to control, eliminate, and prevent work-related injury and disability by promoting optimal work practices. This is a workplace health management program with interrelated, integrated, and coordinated components designed to work together:
    • Provide support to employees coping with psycho-bio-social issues that negatively impact their work/home environment by referring employees/employee spouses to appropriate community resources.
    • Promote healthy living and lifestyle changes for excess weight, physical inactivity, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, muscular-skeletal weakness, and habitual use of tobacco or substances that adversely impact health and/or job performance.
    • Support and reinforce employer's health and safety programs, policies and initiatives with employees and/or spouses for regular practice at work and at home.

Responsibilities and tasks include:

  1. Jointly develop and maintain a health advocacy plan with employer that supports improvement in employee health and work behaviors through education and personal awareness; as well as, as supporting employee participation in the Health Risk Assessment and wellness testing process, and follow through on referrals to community health resources.
  2. Provide on-going support to the on-site liaison to include but not limited to: strategic vision for the client's wellness program, health promotion initiatives that facilitate cultural change and creative ideas that support the client's occupational health directives.
  3. Provide support to each worksite's wellness task force.
  4. Support the Occupational Health Department and site Health & Safety Departments by reinforcing their initiatives, policies, procedures and standards.
  5. Cultivate and maintain relationships with community organizations to include: Campbell County Tobacco Prevention Program, Campbell County Memorial Hospital, Campbell County Department of Health, Campbell County Department of Recreation and other area organizations.
  6. Based on aggregate Health Risk Assessment data, assist employer in developing risk intervention programs to facilitate employees' and spouse's adoption of healthy behaviors through the "stages of change," paradigm i.e., guide them towards making and maintaining improvements in personal health and integrating new systems into the work environment to prevent further injury related problems.
  7. Develop schedule for monthly visits to all 5 mine sites.
  8. May assess an employee's on going progress and recommend appropriate work conditioning activities as the employee's health status permits, and when requested by the WorkCare Nurse Case Manager, or by WorkCare's physician medical consultant.
  9. Prepare and submit reports and charts to treatment team to reflect employees' reactions and evidence of progress or regression and develop on-going metrics for employee health.
  10. Counsel and encourage employees and/or spouses to participate in as appropriate, activities and techniques, such as exercise, sports, dance, music, art or relaxation techniques, designed to meet their specific physical, mental emotional and psychological needs.
  11. Develop personal support and guidance plans to help employees and/or spouses effectively deal with the inevitable challenges to their health needs, based on needs assessment, personal interests and objectives of coaching.
  12. Encourage employees with special needs and circumstances to adopt healthy habits and get involved in healthy lifestyle activities.
  13. Work with WorkCare case managers to provide "field case management" support and confer with members of treatment team to plan and evaluate programs.

The following knowledge is required:

  1. Knowledge of human behavior and performance; individual differences in ability, personality, and interests; learning and motivation; psychological research methods; and the assessment and recommendations for lifestyle changes.
  2. Knowledge of principles, methods, and procedures for managing referrals to community resources.
  3. Knowledge of behavioral changes, and counseling and guidance techniques.
  4. Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  5. Knowledge of group behavior and dynamics, societal trends and influences, ethnicity, cultures and their history and origins.
  6. Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effects.

Reporting Relationships:

  1. Incumbent will directly report to the Vice President, Absence Management for WorkCare.
  2. Incumbent will also have a reporting relationship to the on-site client liaison (Occupational Health).

Detailed Work Activities:

  1. Apply knowledge of anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, nursing, medications, behavioral change and general health.
  2. Effectively use motivational interviewing techniques to help employees make healthy lifestyle/selfcare decisions.
  3. Refer employees/spouses to community health & social service resources, as needed or requested.
  4. Recommend measures to ensure maximum employee participation to diminish absenteeism, turnover, and diminished work performance.
  5. Interpret employee's personal level of health and/or injury risk via PARQ, HRA or interview.
  6. Assist employees to improve workplace ergonomic practices.
  7. Assist employees with continuation of physical rehab program at home or at work with guidance from physician and/or PT.
  8. Teach healthy living and self care, and make presentations at company safety meetings on appropriate health or lifestyle issues.
  9. Observe employee condition and work practices.
  10. Use computers to enter, access or retrieve data.
  11. Apply interpersonal communication techniques.
  12. Effectively work with employees and safety & mine management staff.
  13. Maintain confidential records, reports, or files.

Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor's Degree in health science or sport/exercise required with 5 years experience; Masters degree preferred. CHES is preferred. RN preferred but not reccommended. Knowledge of human behavior and performance; learning and motivation; psychological research methods; knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services; knowledge of group behavior and dynamics, social trends and influences, human migrations, ethnicity, cultures and their history and origins; knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effects. Must be willing to travel between Wyoming, Colorado, and Montana.

Duties include fielding telephone calls related to both business and medical issues; assisting with bookkeeping functions; coordinating medical training classes; assisting in facilities management and providing administrative support to Medical Directors.

Qualified candidates will be self-motivated and have 2-3 years office managerial experience. Must have high school diploma or equivalent. Some college work or certification highly preferred. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills and be able to present a professional image. Must have the ability to work independently with little supervision. Must be computer literate with ability to learn new software systems as necessary. Medical terminology knowledge a plus. Experience in medical front and back office highly preferred.
