Thermal burns caused by contact with flames, hot liquid, steam, or super-heated objects are the most common type of work-related burns. Minor burns can be treated with first-aid remedies in most cases. The key is to act quickly and keep it simple.
Tips
• Run the burned area under cool, running water for 10-15 minutes; do not apply ice • Use non-prescription burn cream and/or oral medication for pain and swelling • Cover with a dry, non-stick sterile dressing to protect skin as it heals
