Registered Nurse (RN) Scope of Work & Qualifications 

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing direct patient care, and processing workers’ compensation claims management. 

They are also charged with facilitating the modified duty and return-to-work program, and assisting with other occupational and environmental health services as needed, while maintaining a professional and patient-centered approach. 

Other responsibilities include:

  • Collaborate with the CMD to support clinical issues and client requests
  • Contribute insight to incident reports and tracking of injury and clinic utilization data
  • Actively participate in emergency response team activities, drills, and training
  • Participate in safety meetings as requested
  • Manage travel medicine programs, as appropriate for the population
  • Maintain data, OSHA 300 forms and the data entry process supported by clinic software or electronic records management systems
  • Order and maintain supplies to ensure that the clinic is appropriately stocked
  • Participate in the general flow of clinic operations (answering phones, checking mail, maintaining medical records, filing, copying charts, traffic control) as needed and in collaboration with current staff
  • Assist with noise sampling, dust sampling, and fire extinguishers
  • Provide common pre-packaged over-the-counter medicine to employees for episodic urgent care
