Safe + Sound Week Promotes Workplace Emergency Preparedness and Response
Employers and safety and health organizations partner with OSHA to mark Safe + Sound Week, Aug. 11-17, with a focus on workplace emergency preparedness and response.
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) annually partners with other organizations – including the American Industrial Hygiene Association, American Society of Safety Professionals, and National Safety Council – to promote Safe + Sound Week. The theme for the week, Aug. 11-17, 2025, is workplace emergency preparedness and response.
Any organization can participate in Safe + Sound Week. Last year, more than 5,000 businesses joined the campaign to raise awareness and demonstrate their commitment to protecting the health and safety of employees and the public, OSHA reports. Occupations and industries with higher-than-average emergency and disaster response exposure risks include medical first response, firefighting, law enforcement, energy and utilities, and waste management.
